My mom has been here multiple times and now on a more permanent basis. While there is not a perfect facility out there, I love her being here. She has received good care. The staff that I have had dealings with have been cooperative and informative with whatever questions my family has had. I am grateful to those that help take care of mom. Thats a huge comfort. Thank you!

Excellent PT/OT/Speech. Our 91YO father was here for approximately 2 weeks. He received genuinely kind and respectful care daily. PT worked with him M-F, they were extremely patient and listened to his limitations. OT Also worked with him consistently and couldn’t have asked for better care. The NP listened and took care of his needs immediately. Highly recommend!
My Mother was in this place for rehab and they basically did nothing for her. They said they couldn’t get her to cooperate to use her walker but the day before she was admitted she was in Canonsburg Hospital using her walker. So what is the purpose of keeping her there two weeks if you aren’t going to get her up and mobile. When I visited and my brother visited we were able to get her up and walking from the visiting room up front all the way down the hall to her room. If I could give a negative star for this place I would.

My husband spent 2.5 weeks at this facility for management of his Parkinsonism symptoms and recovery from a fractured spine. Overall, we had a very positive experience. The physical and occupational therapy teams were outstanding. They treated us with great respect, made my husband’s rehabilitation their top priority, and worked with dedication and compassion throughout his stay. The administration team was also very polite, responsive, and attentive, ensuring that our concerns were addressed promptly and professionally. The nursing staff was very good and attentive as well. They were caring and supportive, though at times it was evident they were short-staffed. Despite this, they did their best to provide quality care. I rated one star less due to an issue with the bathroom in our initial room. There was a water leakage problem that caused a strong odor, and it seemed that urine had seeped into the flooring. However, we appreciated that the staff responded to our concern and moved us to a cleaner room in a timely manner. Overall, we are grateful for the care and professionalism shown during my husband’s stay.

Peter’s Township Post Acute Care is run down, outdated, and falling apart. The depressing little rooms are too small to accommodate 2 patients, especially if either has a wheelchair or walker. Investors/owners should be fined or forced to use some of their profits for maintenance and updates. The reason I gave four stars is due to the staff. Each staff member I have interacted with has been pleasant and helpful. I trust that they are doing their best for the patients living at the facility.

Everything mostly was good. I need to point out that Janet was wonderful. She gave me my showers and helped me wash up on the days she was working with me. See w

Could be better if they treated employees, patients and family members fairly.
Our family is beyond grateful for the exceptional care our mom is receiving at Peter’s Township Post Acute. We were met with kindness, compassion, and professionalism from every member of the team. The nursing staff is attentive and caring. The therapy team is outstanding by being incredibly encouraging and helping our mom regain strength and confidence.

My mom is here because she broke her hip. Yesterday, I went to see her and the staff was able to print out two forms for VA Aid and Assistance since my dad was a veteran. Shortly after returning home, I got a call saying that my mom’s final stay will be Friday. After that, any additional days that she stays I have to pay out of pocket. Maybe they don’t know or don’t care but, with my mom being at Post Acute, I have to pay all of the bills. The rent, heating, water, electricity, gas, etc. And, if I have to keep paying out of pocket every day, I won’t have any money left to keep living here. I almost feel like they were waiting last minute to do this just to pressure me and my sister who will both be going to talk to them today into putting my mom on Medicaid. However, I want to at least wait to see if my mom gets VA assistance first. Update, I have spoken to a man by the name of Dan Nathan of Bright At Home who can offer assistance for my mom while I’m at work. I talked to Lisa from Social Work and she claims that Dan told her I gave off a lot of red flags. This is not true. Me and Dan have come up with a payment plan so my mom can get living assistance at home while I’m at work. The thing is, when I asked Lisa what day would be suitable for my mom to come home, she never gave me a straight answer no matter how many times I asked and refuses to let my mom come home without a care plan even though I already told her I had one. I’m not stupid. Lisa is attempting to discourage me from taking my mom home and it won’t work. I even told her on my days off that I will take care of my mom. In my honest opinion, I no longer want my mom in a facility where they care more about residents staying so that the staff of Post Acute can fill their pockets then allow any residents to return home. Update 2. Went to see my mom yesterday and she has repeatedly told staff that she hates staying at Post Acute and wants to return home but, they keep denying her the right to leave if she wants to. She also asked for hot chocolate but instead they gave her tea to drink. Clearly none of the staff care at all about what the people staying there want at all. Update 3. Post Acute is full of criminals. I’m finally picking my mom up today and I was told I had to pay over $8,000 even though I was told I only had to pay $1,300 for each month that my mom was there. They’re not only horrible caregivers, they’re robbers too. Get your family out of there now. Update 4. Just got another bill from Peters Township Post Acute saying that we still owe five hundred dollars. This is ridiculous since we were able to pay my mom’s bill in full. This is just an attempt to extort more money from us. They are nothing more than criminals and nobody should have to put their elderly relatives there.

Written by Cynthia Treese. After spending months at different facilities for the past 5 years, I have finally found one that is fantastic and meeting all of my needs with great success. Peters Township Post Acute has helped a great deal with my rehab and wound care needs. The therapy department is outstanding, the best I have comes across in 5 years. Wound care is exceptional. The nurses are very attentive to your needs. I have had more healing here than I’ve had in several years. Peters Township Post Acute is the best. If you are tired of bad experiences, I guarantee you will not be disappointed at Peters Township Post Acute.

I went in to see my brother today and he was exposed-no depends and if he had a gown it wasn’t on. I told the nurse this and she said we see that all the time but I told her that was my brother. Years ago my mother was in there and I would of highly recommend it then but walking down the hall I looked into the rooms and almost all were wrapped in blankets in the fetal position and the urine smell was repulsive. I just cried because this is not the way elderly people should not be spending their last days. Also it is over 100 degrees today and 2 patients were sitting outside unattended. Just makes me sick!!!
We were pleasantly surprised with our experience there. It was clean and bright and our dad received good care. I walked into the social worker’s office at 5:20 p.m., and she was wonderful with me. I spent about a half hour with her and she treated me as if there were no place else she had to be. This was very comforting during a difficult time.
Honestly if I can give them hmm we’ll be nice about a negative 5 for most of the workers (if u can call them workers) I had 2 really nice cna’s 1 really good one I had i nice nurse I was there for over a month one nurse actually made u kinda scared to ask for your medicine then all the lying and extra pain they caused me when I was discharged they were supposed to have a stretcher van for me but they don’t care i couldn’t sit in the wheelchair there the hole time the transporter got me to my steps told me to get out I haven’t walked the hole time I was there but nurses and jeff wanna lie and say I did I just had to slide to the ground and wait for the ambulance and I think if I at 44 with my mind im being treated like this how are they treating the elderly i have been a cna for 20 years and would never act like this never go into a room and say what do u want never be like the nurse grumbling I’d like to sit blah blah it’s ur job u don’t like it there go somewhere else u r there to take care of others that can’t do it themselves oh and all the hell i went thru coming home I was approved for longer time if people that worked in a facility for 20 years did their job
If I could give sub-zero stars I would! Do not choose this place if you are looking for long-term care for your loved one! The staff is a daily revolving door of “agency” people. They’re there one day and gone the next. You don’t know who has been providing the care, or blatant lack thereof. The staff that has been there for some time has no accountability for their negligence, not providing full disclosure, claiming they’ll monitor the loved one, then finding your loved one in the ICU and now in hospice. When complaints of negligence were made to the Director of Medicine, he only had accolades for the person responsible for stopping a life-long mood stabilizing medication cold turkey. The Department of Health will only give a slap on the wrist saying fix it, or we’ll slap you again, and maybe institute a fine; Attorneys are only in it for the money. I’m not looking for financial gains, I’m looking for a health care facility to actually do their job. The media may shine a spotlight on them for a day or two, but that doesn’t change the individuals being placed in the positions meant to provide responsible care – that should be “a given” when you accept a job in this profession. I can’t be there 24/7; believe me I tried! Now I’m burned out and I have no way of getting to my loved one to see their current state of affairs. I’ve been praying for a way to help my loved one. I can only give it to God now because I can’t be “it” all the time. I hope this review helps anyone out there looking for a nursing home for their loved one to NOT choose Peters Township Post Acute. My loved one has been in several nursing homes over the years…they all have their issues, but this one is deplorable! …and yes, I’ve been searching for a new facility, despite my loved one’s stage in life. I would add photos, but would like to save some dignity of my loved one; and you cannot unsee what has been seen! God bless you and your loved one in finding a home that provides the respect, care, concern, and dignity that all human beings deserve! And God bless my mother! She is most certainly undeserving of this disgraceful level of care, as are many of the other residents I have come to know and experience in this facility.

My mother is in this home. Prior to the very recent change in management, my Mother was receiving decent care. I am not sure what happened but many of the good staff we depended on are no longer employed here. The place is lousy now. For instance, when I came in at 1pm on Saturday, my Mom was not dressed and setting in her wheelchair! She asked to be put in bed over a half an hour ago and we are still waiting!!! The aide came in 15 minutes ago and shut the call light out and never came back. There are only 2 aides for this whole ward!!! Please be aware before you put your loved one here.

The staff has been nothing but nice and helpful to me and my gram. Any issue they call me in a timely manor for updates. The social worker Stacey has been so helpful with getting medicaid set up for my gram. Im very thankful for them helping me navigate this with my grandmother.

As a CNA who works in a nursing home and a hospital I understand you get busy but I live states away and came to visit my great grandmother to find her and her bed completely soaked. I was and still am beyond furious to know that’s how she’s being treated as a patient. I ended up having to change her and her entire bed myself and to tell me that I don’t understand what it’s like and how busy you are. I take on 30 people plus hoyer lifts constantly, no matter what you need to have compassion and empathy with them, they’re humans who need our help.

Very nice facility. Better though are the caring people who work there, in particular Yvonne. She visits daily to make sure resident’s needs are met, and demonstrates extreme compassion and excellent oversight.

This facility is amazing! My sister had wonderful care. I cannot say one bad thing about her stay. Therapy worked with her & she made so much progress. All of the staff are great! We are so thankful she was referred to Peter’s Township Nursing & Rehabilitation.

I get the impression they just stick people in wheelchairs or bed. There is little to no mental stimulation and no physical exercise. My heart breaks for long term residence.
